I love unexpected pops of color in a design scheme. I was looking through an old design folder from I room I was redoing a couple of years ago and found a magazine page (above) from Elle Decoration (the UK version) with a bright yellow chair in an otherwise neutral room (see my i heart note to the decorator :) Clearly I love this design element, the yellow lanterns have the same effect. They were outside a store in Haarlem an hour away from Amsterdam. Below is a color palette I selected for a sewing project I am working on. Look a little familiar? Total coincidence!
